Stephen T. Schram worked for thirty-three years as a fisheries biologist for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. He spent his entire career with the fisheries program on Lake Superior. His love and concern for the Great Lakes prompted him to begin writing children’s books. The books are based on work experiences with the intent to inspire children to become stewards of the lakes.
Besides writing, he works as a track and field official at NCAA and USA Track and Field meets locally and across the country. He enjoys paddling, marvels at ephemeral ponds, and is awed by old growth trees growing out of cracks in solid bedrock.
He lives with his wife near the shores of Lake Superior.
